The All-New Xbox One X
Xbox: The Official Magazine|August 2017
Just how good is Microsoft’s new console? We go hands-on with the powerhouse and ask the devs what it means for the future of gaming…

The All-New Xbox One X

When Microsoft took to the stage at E3 2016 and announced what was then known only as ‘Project Scorpio’, fans couldn’t believe their ears. Phil Spencer made clear that the console was still very much an Xbox One, and would run the same games as your current machine – but better – making it an interesting hybrid. This wasn’t a new console generation – it was a mid-generation leap, far beyond what was expected from a ‘slim’ model of the console.

One year on, and after several more detailed announcements about specs, we were finally given a proper look at the all-new console, now dubbed the Xbox One X, at this year’s E3. It’s svelte, sexy and incredibly powerful, and we managed to get our hands on it to tell you all about how it performs ahead of its release on 7 November this year.
