La Chinesca is an honest expression of chef Bruce Ricketts’s love for Mexican food.
I remember making the journey to BF Homes in Parañaque years ago to sit at one of Sensei Sushi’s tables and partake of whatever dish chef Bruce Ricketts sent out from his tiny kitchen. The meal was amazing and the memory of it has stayed with me to this day. So I was a little worried when he teamed up with an expanding restaurant group to design and execute menus for new dining concepts.
It turns out that I had nothing to worry about. I’ve since enjoyed my meals at these popular restaurants, and discovered that, yes, Bruce Ricketts’s taste buds are as awesome as ever. And as soon as I heard about his new taqueria in his old neighborhood, I made my way down SLEX for lunch at La Chinesca.
