‘Let food be thy medicine!’ The proverb holds a lot of importance for a quick and easy recovery after an illness.

Most of the times, after a simple illness like fever, we tend to lose a lot of energy, resulting in weakness and tiredness. During an illness, our entire digestive system gets affected, so much so that we cannot afford to eat food items, which are spicy and oily, as it delays the recuperating process.

Here are some important tips, which will help patients to recover faster.

Understand The Exact Path of Recovery:

Different illnesses have different ways to recover. For example, if there is an injury like the fracture of the foot, or any other body part, then the stress should be more on the calcium rich foods and high protein foods. But, if an illness is a major one like typhoid or jaundice, or for that matter, even if it is fever, the digestive system is compressed, and so the food should be soothing, yet nutritious. Sometimes, if the antibiotics dose is very high, then special care has to be taken to avoid irritation to the digestive system.

Be Fit For Faster Recovery: Food truly has the power to heal the body much quicker than medicines. If the body is fit enough, then post illness, recovery is also pretty soon. If the illness is treated well in time by consuming a diet rich in protein and Vitamin C, the body recovers faster than usual.
