I’VE been feeling very middle class recently. I reckon there’s a good chance if you are reading this you probably are middle class. I know this because I’ve used the working class northern chip on my shoulder to ascertain it. Who is working class these days? I reckon I’m working class. Well I was. Definitely born working class. I think. Nobody in our family had gone to university but Mum and Dad had bought their house. So, am I? Who knows. Not only can gender be regarded fluid these day so can your class, if class is even that important?

There are a number of tell-tale signs. Many go by the mantra of weekly paid and rent your house – working class. Monthly salary and own your home; middle class. Don’t have to work, inherited your house, plus estate and millions; upper class. Or your parents were arch super criminals.
