URBAN spas can typically leave you feeling a little underwhelmed. You long for the rolling countryside views, peace and tranquillity. However the Spa at the Midland has a facility to rival that of the largest country houses and hotels. This award-winning urban spa is a hidden gem, where guests discover the art of relaxation just a few feet below the hustle and bustle of Manchester city centre.

After changing into our fluffy robes and slippers, my sister was called in to enjoy her energising back ritual and I followed shortly with my therapist Hannah to experience the ESPA Serene Sleep treatment. I was rather looking forward to this treatment after a stressful couple of weeks and it turns out it was just what the doctor ordered.
