Many of my friends will be aware by now of the on-going trials and tribulations associated with owning a Jack Russell terrier. They are not your ordinary, garden-variety mutts, given to napping and following at your heels when you are outside. The Jack Russell has its own agenda. With high energy, vigour and enthusiasm they rise in the early morning, their doggy brains full of wonderful adventures involving squirrels, digging gopher holes and burying or exhuming something incredibly rotten. On a farm, this is perfectly acceptable but I can’t imagine how this type of busy dog could cope or be coped with in the city.
