Two Routes, Same Goal

Theft, robbery and dacoity sound similar. However, a lawyer can tell you that there are huge differences and consequences for the crime vary. While theft is removal of goods without knowledge of a person, robbery involves putting the person under threat and dacoity is robbery with five or more people involved. Law is about being skilled at many things, semantics, communication, logic, legal reasoning, reading and imbibing judgements to name a few. If you have a passion for developing and honing these skills, legal sphere is the place for you!

Open to students of all streams, the route to law education is via many entrances such as CLAT, LSAT, AILET, SET and others. CLAT and LSAT are two of the key law entrances which open the doors to UG and PG courses of many reputed law schools. With the application of LSAT already open and CLAT applications to begin soon, here is an overview of these two entrances.

Common Law Admission Test

With over 50,000 aspirants vying for 2,420 seats in 21 National Law Universities (NLUs) and about 25 private law schools accepting its scores, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) continues to be the most coveted law entrance as an entry-point to India’s top law schools. Those aiming for 5-year LLB or 1-year LLM degree programmes at participating NLUs can apply for CLAT 2019. The test is conducted by participating NLUs in rotation. NLU Odisha, Cuttack is the conducting body for CLAT this year.
