How To Grow... Anemones

THE brown wizened tubers of anemones are strange-looking beasts. Rock-hard, generally around 3 ∕4in (2cm) long and heavy for their size, it is hard to believe that anything as beautiful and delicate as a windflower could emerge from them. Autumn is planting time, and if the tubers are dry, they are best soaked overnight ready for a quick getaway in the soil.
