Malusi and Norma Gigaba have been silenced on social media by the minister’s fiery ex-mistress. Buhle’s siblings aren’t surprised by their sister’s temper, but say she’s a generous person

IT WAS a comeback of epic proportions – and no one saw it coming. For months Buhle Mkhize stayed true to her word and kept a low profile, even scaling down on the pictures she loved to post of her glam life on social media.

But when Norma Gigaba told the world she didn’t regret the words she used when she uncovered her husband Malusi’s alleged affair, the finance minister’s fiery former mistress couldn’t hold her tongue and came out guns blazing on Twitter.

Fashion designer Buhle, furious after being called a prostitute on national TV by Norma, threatened to drop bombshells that could potentially ruin Malusi’s career.

“Stop her from ever bringing this up again or they’ll hear about December 18, you know me and documenting, I don’t slip,” Buhle warned Malusi on Twitter.

The volley of tweets Buhle blasted all the way from her New York City home made Malusi something of a laughing stock of Mzansi – he was even forced to ask MPs to refrain from discussing his family matters in Parliamentary sessions.

It is, of course, not the first time this lover’s triangle is in the spotlight: When Malusi and Buhle’s alleged affair first came to light, Buhle took her battle with Norma public. She posted screenshots of their catfight on Instagram for all to see (Minister’s steamy home affairs, 22 October 2015) and included a scathing post from Norma – “Go to hell prostitutendini” – although she later deleted the post.

This time, however, Buhle wasn’t as kind: re-emerging on social media, the 33-year-old cast doubt on Norma’s education and qualifications. The part-time yoga instructor also took a swipe at Norma’s looks and compared her to Homo naledi, a species thought to be related to humans.
