Sitting on the throne is very hard work

AT AGE 92, Queen Elizabeth can still do the work of a woman — or man — half her age!

Here is exhausting detail of one jolly, busy day in the life of Her Highness:

At 8 a.m., she rises from her double bed and takes a bath. A servant has made sure the water in the tub is precisely seven inches deep. She then dresses.

At 9:30 a.m. sharp, Elizabeth is at her Chippendale desk in her sitting room office area for two hours of filling out paperwork. Everything on the desk, including her favorite fountain pen, must be in its exact place. She fumes if anything is moved.

She insists on using a fountain pen to sign official documents. A crystal, double inkwell is nearby. She writes personal letters in green. The ink is blotted dry with a sheet of black paper so what she’s written can’t be read.

She reads a summary of the day’s news prepared by her press secretary taken from TV and radio. Finished, she presses a button on an intercom, and tells the press secretary: “Would you like to come up?”
