1 Chris was born on 11 August 1983 in Melbourne, Australia.
2 His mother Leonie was an English teacher, later she retired and joined her husband in his work at the Australian Childhood Foundation. His father Craig Hemsworth is a social services counselor.
3 Both of Hemsworth’s brothers, Liam and Luke, are also actors. Chris is the middle brother.
4 As a child, Chris had a hard time pronouncing his own name. Attempts to say “Christopher” came out sounding like “Kiptader,” so he was nicknamed “Kip.”
5 While he has lived in LA like most Hollywood actors, Hemsworth finds the city “suffocating.” His preferred place of residence is Byron Bay, Australia.
6 Chris Hemsworth’s first big break was when he was cast in the Australian soap opera Home and Away. He appeared on a total of 171 episodes, before leaving the series in 2006.
