TWO YEARS AGO, UPLOAD creator Greg Daniels (The Office) left audiences with a bunch of cliffhangers so twisty that it gave a tangled ball of USB cables a run for its money. Season two brings seven new episodes that pick right up in further revealing the fates of its star-crossed lovers: dead and data-throttled Nathan (Robbie Amell) and the very much alive but on the run Nora (Andy Allo). In the first season, the pair discovered that Nathan was murdered because of the software he developed that would even the afterlife playing field, making it not just for the rich, but for everyone.
In addition to presenting their charming relationship, Upload is also a biting satire about how in our near future we’ve become so integrated with our tech that we even use it to extend our mortality. Nathan’s “self” exists in the fancy cloud of Lakeview, where he’s stuck with his well-funded girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards) and BFF Luke (Kevin Bigley).
