The seaside town of Whitstable in Kent may be famous for its oysters, but in Acorn TV’s new six-part series Whitstable Pearl, local restaurant owner and part-time private eye Pearl Nolan, played by Kerry Godliman, discovers her hometown is also a murder hotspot.
In the opening episode, single mum Pearl finds the body of fisherman and family friend Vinnie tangled up in his boat’s anchor. Suspecting something fishy, she does some digging into Vinnie’s oyster business and personal life – and uncovers an unsavoury side to the picturesque port.
