DS Endeavour’s in a rural police station as the Inspector Morse prequel returns

Country Files

It’s 1969 and, with a new decade beckoning, the winds of change are blowing through Oxford as Endeavour returns for a sixth series.

In the last series of ITV’s Inspector Morse prequel, we saw the team’s former police station close as Oxford City Police combined with Thames Valley Constabulary.

Now, following the merger, a newly mustachioed DS Endeavour Morse (Shaun Evans) is based in a rural police station in Woodstock.

Meanwhile, Fred Thursday (Roger Allam) is at Oxford’s Castle Gate CID and has been demoted to a DI following the unsolved murder of DC Fancy (Lewis Peek), and their old boss CS Reginald Bright (Anton Lesser) is sidelined to traffic duties.
