Living in a fantasy world can be fatal in Syfy’s new drama starring Dennis Haysbert
NEW SCI-FI
Reverie
Thursday, Syfy HD, 9pm
As US president David Palmer in five seasons of espionage thriller 24, Dennis Haysbert got caught up in deadly situations. In his new series, Reverie, starting with a double bill on Syfy this week, he’s involved in dangerous missions again, but in virtual reality, rather than real time.
The 64-year-old actor plays Charlie Ventana, a former police chief-turned-security consultant at Onira-Tech, a technology firm that has invented a groundbreaking new programme called Reverie, which allows people to create their own virtual reality dreams and live in them – for a while.
