CRIME DRAMA
Prodigal Son
Wednesday, Sky One HD, 9pm
Catherine Zeta-Jones’ latest role couldn’t be further from Mariette in The Darling Buds of May, the feel-good British comedy drama that launched her on the path to fame in the early 1990s. This week, the Oscar winner joins the cast of Prodigal Son as the US drama continues its second season on Sky One.
Her character, Dr Vivian Capshaw, is a doctor at the Claremont Psychiatric Hospital where serial killer Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen) is incarcerated.
Martin, AKA The Surgeon, was once a respected medic and family man but is now locked up for killing 23 people. He is doing menial tasks in the infirmary until Vivian realises that he could help treat her patients, and the pair form a connection.
