Intergalactic
Friday, Sky One HD, 9 pm
The year is 2143, and transport spaceship the Hemlock is on a routine voyage, ferrying female convicts from Earth to a prison planet. One of them is wrongly imprisoned cop Ash, whose mother Rebecca is a high-ranking official in the global authority known as the Common-world.
Rebecca is desperate to clear her daughter’s name but, before Ash can be released, the other prisoners take over the ship and pursue their freedom across the galaxy…
That’s the set-up for Sky One’s action-packed sci-fi series Intergalactic, which delivers thrilling action and strange new worlds of futuristic cityscapes and spacecraft (see panel, below).
WRONGLY ACCUSED
‘Ash is a part of the Common world, and she’s a police officer,’ explains Savannah Steyn of her character, who is first seen chasing down a criminal on the streets of New London. ‘She’s 21, just graduated, and then she’s arrested for a terrorist crime she didn’t commit.
