Eddie Redmayne Is the Bright New Star in JK Rowling’s Potterverse
Move over Harry Potter; author JK Rowling has conjured up another wizard of a hero. Played with bags of charm by Eddie Redmayne, Newt Scamander is the wizarding world’s David Attenborough – and the purported author of the spoof Hogwart’s textbook Rowling wrote in aid of Comic Relief in 2001.
His first screen adventure takes place in 1926 New York, where his menagerie of magical creatures breaks loose from his suitcase, just as an extremely dangerous dark magical force is making its presence felt in the city.
