LAST ONE DRAMA
Peaky Blinders
Sunday, 9pm, BBC1
Tommy Shelby and co make their final stand on Sunday night as the hit gangster drama Peaky Blinders bids farewell to the small screen with a spectacular series finale.
The leader of the Birmingham gang has been on an emotional roller coaster over the past few weeks. Still haunted by his time in the trenches and with the guilt of his various crimes weighing heavily on his shoulders, Tommy is suffering the heartbreak of losing his young daughter Ruby to tuberculosis and the shock of learning he has a son he never knew, Duke (Conrad Khan).
According to the show’s creator, Steven Knight, Tommy is nearing the end of a long journey to find peace after years of turmoil.
‘From the very beginning, I wanted to write about a character who seems irredeemable – someone who has switched off completely, whose humanity has been torn out of him by his experiences in the war,’ says Knight.
