Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner are true-life Texas Rangers on the trail of Bonnie and Clyde...
There have been countless films, books and TV documentaries about notorious American gangsters Bonnie and Clyde, but nothing about the true-life detectives who came out of retirement to hunt them down.
The intriguing story is now told in Netflix’s new film, The Highwaymen, starring Hollywood A-listers Woody Harrelson and Kevin Costner.
It begins in 1934 with Bonnie Parker (Emily Brobst) and Clyde Barrow (Edward Bossert) still at large after a violent two-year crime spree.
Both in their early 20s, Bonnie and Clyde have led the so-called ‘Barrow gang’ on a series of armed robberies and murders from Iowa to Texas, and have been responsible for killing more than a dozen people.
As the film opens, the ruthless pair orchestrate a bloody jailbreak that sees members of their gang escape from a Texas prison.
