Bless the gods! David Dawson returns as King Alfred in brilliant historical drama The Last Kingdom…
For a while it looked as though we wouldn’t be seeing any more of The Last Kingdom. After two seasons on BBC2, it seemed the saga about King Alfred would be consigned to history.
Thankfully, the action-packed series is back this week for a third run – this time on Netflix.
NEW THREATS
As we rejoin the epic adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s Saxon stories, Alfred faces a new threat from ferocious Danish warlord Bloodhair (Ola Rapace), who invades Wessex accompanied by his mysterious lover and seer Skade (Thea Sofie Loch Næss).
