As loud-mouthed American space tourist Karen Kelly, Rebecca Front continues her travels across the galaxy this week in the latest episode of Sky One’s sci-fi comedy Avenue 5. But in reality, the 55-year-old actress can’t think of anything worse than being launched into orbit.
‘I would loathe it,’ she laughs. ‘I am claustrophobic, so the thought of being in an environment where you can’t get off is awful. I’m bad enough on a long-haul flight. So being stuck on a spaceship would fill me with absolute horror.’
As the calamitous voyage of Avenue 5 continues, bogus captain Ryan Clark (Hugh Laurie) discovers it will take three and a half years for the ship to return to Earth after being knocked off course.
