Sheldon and the gang prepare to say goodbye
It’s been one of the most popular TV comedies of recent years. But now, after more than a decade on air, The Big Bang Theory begins its 12th and final series on E4.
According to reports, actor Jim Parsons, who plays eccentric know-it-all Dr Sheldon Cooper, told network bosses he thought it was time to quit the show, which at its peak attracted more than 20 million viewers in the US.
WARM RECEPTION
During its run, the show has received nine Emmys, including four Outstanding Lead Actor wins for Parsons, and spawned spin-off Young Sheldon, which returns for a second series next year.
