An Angel and a Demon Unite to Save the World From the Antichrist in a Spectacular Fantasy Drama Starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen

Race With The Devil

At a former military base in Oxfordshire, TV&Satellite Week is witnessing an extraordinary sight. In front of an aircraft hangar, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are jumping on motorbikes. Meanwhile, David Tennant, dressed in black, and Michael Sheen, clad in pure white, are having a tense conversation, before Tennant races across the runway in a jeep with Miranda Richardson, who is brandishing a giant gun.

We’re on set for Amazon Prime Video’s visually stunning six-part fantasy drama Good Omens, created by Neil Gaiman and based on the 1990 novel he wrote with the late Terry Pratchett.

The star-studded series centres on playboy demon Crowley, played by Tennant, and straight laced angel Aziraphale, played by Sheen.

The pair should be mortal enemies, but since the dawn of time they have forged a quirky kind of friendship. Now, 11 years after a mix-up that saw the baby Antichrist given to the wrong couple, Crowley and Aziraphale embark on a dangerous hunt to trace the unwitting youngster, Adam (Sam Taylor Buck), who lives with his parents in an English village, before he uses his powers. Can the intrepid duo protect humanity from destruction?

The cast features a host of big names, including Frances McDormand as the voice of God, Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Satan, along with Steve Pemberton and Mark Gatiss as mysterious booksellers Glozier and Harmony, and their The League of Gentlemen co-star Reece Shearsmith as William Shakespeare.
