Lawyers don’t come much tougher than Joanna Hanley, a brilliant Toronto litigator, played by Kristin Kreuk in Universal’s promising new drama Burden of Truth, which kicks off with a double bill.
That steeliness is immediately on display this week, when Joanna returns to her Canadian hometown of Millwood on behalf of a huge pharmaceutical company. Girls in the local school have been suffering seizures, apparently as a result of the company’s vaccine – but Joanna isn’t the sympathetic type.
