Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar reveal how a new series of their hit detective drama sees them once again hunting through clues from decades ago…

The shocking discovery of a long-dead body, and the stunning twists as four seemingly unconnected suspects were placed in the frame, made the first series of Unforgotten unmissable.

Now, prepare to get hooked all over again as the acclaimed ITV crime drama returns with a tantalising new six-part mystery.

Determined cops DCI Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) are called in once more when the body of a man who went missing in 1990 is found in a suitcase in London’s River Lea, and again there are four unlikely murder suspects.

TV Times took Nicola, 46, and Sanjeev, 53, in for questioning to learn more…

How does this series compare to the previous one?

Nicola: The similarity is that bodies surface and you wonder again how things were kept secret for so long. The crime is different, though, and when they find this body, it’s difficult to discover the identity. But there’s a family who’ve been waiting to find out what happened, which moves and overwhelms Cassie.

Sanjeev: Yes, you still have the whodunit but it’s about how that knock on the door affects not just the person of interest but the people close to them. The issues that come out of that are more complex and there are grey areas, which may lead to greater debate at home.

How do Cassie and Sunny get on this time?
