STRIKE – LETHAL WHITE

NEW SUN & MON / BBC1 / 9PM / EPS 1-2 OF 4 / DRAMA

Ever since BBC1 crime drama Strike hit our screens in 2017, the chemistry between scruffy but shrewd private investigator Cormoran Strike (The Musketeers’ Tom Burke) and his spirited but troubled colleague Robin Ellacott (The Capture’s Holliday Grainger) has bubbled away and fans have been rooting for them to become a couple.

So TV Times, like viewers across the land, was sorely deflated when the last series ended with Robin marrying her childhood sweetheart Matt (Victoria’s Kerr Logan).

That disappointment only deepened when we were invited on to the show’s set in west London last December. In the scene we saw being filmed in Strike and Robin’s office, Robin was having an awkward conversation with Strike’s new girlfriend Lorelei (Coronation Street’s Natalie Gumede)!

The new series, which is based on Lethal White, the fourth Strike novel written by Harry Potter author JK Rowling (under the pen name of Robert Galbraith), sees the sleuths tackle their most challenging investigation to date. When they look into the blackmail of an MP and a young man’s claim that he witnessed a murder as a child, it seems as if the two cases could be connected.

Between scenes, Tom, 39, and Holliday, 32, told us more…

Is Strike and Robin’s potential romance still bubbling away?
