‘It goes worse than usual!'

Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society brings us more amateur theatricals – emphasis very much on ‘amateur’! – this week as The Goes Wrong Show returns to BBC1, courtesy of the award-winning and professional Mischief Theatre company.

The new five-part series finds Cornley’s director Chris Bean (played by Henry Shields) ousted and replaced by power-hungry actor Robert Grove (Henry Lewis). But can he deliver an error-free production?

Here, in an exclusive interview, co-creator and star Henry Lewis tells TV Times more…

How does it feel to be back for a second series?

Amazing! We loved doing the first series so much, and it was really lovely to do the second one. Obviously with the pandemic and everything, the approach was a little different – we didn’t have the test audiences that we had for the first series to try out the material, so we had to follow our gut instinct a bit more, but I think it has worked out really well.
