BRITAIN’S GOT TALENT

LIVE FINAL SAT / ITV / 7.30PM / ENTERTAINMENT

After five weeks of entertaining, nailbiting and heartwarming semi-final performances, the stage is now set for the grand finale of Britain’s Got Talent 2020.

This Saturday evening, hosts Ant and Dec will oversee proceedings as the top 10 acts battle it out – live – for the chance to win a coveted slot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance and a £250,000 cash prize.

The line-up comprises five acts voted for by the public (one act chosen from each semi-final and they will be revealed this Saturday), plus five contenders who have already been picked by the judges.

They are comedy pianist – and Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer choice – Jon Courtenay, dance duo Aaron and Jasmine, comedian – and judge Alesha Dixon’s Golden Buzzer act – Nabil Abdulrashid, illusionist Magical Bones and comedy juggler Steve Royle.

Dad-of-three Steve, 52, from Lancashire, was the warm-up act for 2006’s Royal Variety Performance. Now, after impressing the judges at the auditions and the first semi-final, he tells TV Times how he’s on a mission to prove he’s a Royle fit for royals…

How does it feel to be competing in the final of BGT?

Oh, it’s amazing. I only ever did Britain’s Got Talent to try and boost my career a little bit, so for all four judges to get my sense of humour and vote me through, I was proper overcome. To be in the final is hard to put into words, especially after the year we’ve all had. It’s nice to have a gig to look forward to!
