SPRINGTIME ON THE FARM

NEW EASTER MON-THU, 8PM, CHANNEL 5 FACTUAL

Glorious spring has finally sprung, which can only mean one thing for Helen Skelton and Adam Henson sleepless nights!

“It's the busiest time of the year but also the most wonderful, grins Adam, who, over four nights this week, will be in the middle of the live birthing action as he, Helen and the rest of Channel 5's Springtime on the Farm team bring us all the joy and jeopardy of farming's most exciting and unpredictable season.

‘Expect a roller coaster of emotions. It's non-stop with newborns,' agrees Helen, as she cuddles up with a lamb for our fabulous TV Times photo shoot before preparing to join Jules Hudson and farmers Rob and Dave Nicholson to deliver lambs, calves, goat kids and foals at Cannon Hall Farm in Yorkshire - while Adam reports from his Cotswolds farm.

Here, Helen, 38, and Adam, 56, reveal how they are showcasing the highs and lows of springtime farming...

Can you sum up spring in five words?

ADAM Very busy, bursting with life!

HELEN Unpredictable, heartfelt and a laugh!

What does spring mean to you both?

ADAM It's my favourite time of year, a turning point after a long, dark winter when everything bursts into life. It's wonderful to see the daffodils, buds on trees, lambs being born and crops starting to grow.

HELEN For me, it's a clean slate, a time of new beginnings after a hard few months. I'm outdoorsy, so being with my dog and kids in the lighter nights is brilliant.

What makes Springtime on the Farm such a hit?
