TEN PERCENT
NEW FROM THURSDAY 28 APRIL, PRIME VIDEO
Behind every successful actor, there's a stressed-out agent fighting to keep them on the A-list, and Prime Video's eight-part comedy Ten Percent puts the power brokers of showbiz in the spotlight.
Adapted by W1A creator John Morton from the hit French series Call My Agent!, Ten Percent - named after the cut of an actor's earnings that an agent takes - follows the fortunes of the fictional Nightingale Hart agency in London, with guest stars including Helena Bonham Carter and Kelly Macdonald playing heightened versions of themselves as its clients.
However, the agency faces a problem that no amount of schmoozing can solve when co-founder Richard Nightingale (Oscar-winner Jim Broadbent) dies suddenly, forcing his smooth-talking son Jonathan (Pirates of the Caribbean's Jack Davenport) to take the reins.
TV Times caught up with Jack, 49, to find out more...
What attracted you to sign up for the show?
That's simple - John Morton! In my view, he's in a tiny group of writers who just understand the rhythms and realities of spoken language. Performing his writing is like being given a really nice car to drive. The directive is, 'Don't drive it into a wall, just let it take you where it should!
Also, Jonathan is so gloriously flawed as a human being - who wouldn't want to explore that?
