Don&rsquo;t be intimidated by the names &ndash; they&rsquo;re all relatively easy to play.For lead and soloing take your inspiration from the jazz-blues greats. The minor pentatonic and blues scale are a really good starting point when improvising but you&rsquo;ll get more of the jazz-blues vibe with the slicker sounding Dorian mode. Try also targeting some of the more colourful notes from the chords you&rsquo;re playing over.
