Food theatrics take centre stage at this Creek steakhouse
As lovely as it is, Al Seef is not necessarily the first place that springs to mind as a fine dining destination. But Doors Freestyle Grill is attempting to change that. The recently opened restaurant is by far the most grandiose in the creekside development – it sprawls across a whopping 12,000 square feet, and seats up to 400 people.
Doors is the brainchild of Turkish chef Kemal Ceylan, who also has two restaurants in China. The concept is essentially a high end steakhouse, with a side of “culinary theatre” – a cart beside our table holding a selection of carving knives and a blowtorch hinted at what was to come. We suspect they’re hoping to give that other famous Turkish steakhouse a run for its, erm, salt.
