After closing for summer, the citys best sundowner spots are back in business. Time to get back outsideand enjoy terrace life. Heres a roundup of our favourites
1 7 Sisters
Business Bay lounge 7 Sisters briefly opened its doors for a short season before closing for summer earlier this year, and now it’s back with the retractable roof firmly off. The Lebanese export, which overlooks the Dubai Canal in the JW Marriott Marquis, hosts a weekly Tuesday live music session, a Friday night concept inspired by the Orient, and gives over Thursdays to talented local DJs, on rotation.
Seven Sisters, First Floor, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Business Bay, daily 6pm to 3am. Tel: (056) 775 4777. Metro: Business Bay. 7sistersdubai.com
2 Ramusake
JBR nightspot Ramusake consistently packed out their Wednesday ladies’ night, Miss Independent, last year – booking (sometimes weeks in advance) was essential if you wanted to squeeze in with the midweek party people. We’d advise doing the same if you want a terrace table for their house sound-tracked Friday brunch, too, otherwise hit the terrace on one of their ‘quieter’ nights, for a specially themed menu of Sakura cocktails.
DoubleTree by Hilton, The Walk – JBR, Dubai Marina, Sun to Wed 6pm to 2am, Thur 1pm to 2am, Fri and Sat 12pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 5595300. Tram: Jumeirah Beach Residence 2. Ramusake.ae
3 Pierchic
There’s a wee bit of work required to get to Pierchic – you’ll have to take a buggy across the weaving waterways of Jumeirah Al Qasr, and then a rickshaw (or a long walk) up the pier to reach it – but the views alone make it worth it. Two, circular bars, jutting out from either side of the pier await, and that majestic vista means there are few grander places in Dubai for an evening of drinks. If you’re heading to Pierchic for the seafood though (and we fully recommend you do), the terrace around the restaurant is open from mid-October – so you can dine next to the sea.
