Canada is usually seen as one of the world’s safest nations, but Simon Reeve uncovers a much darker side to the country as he journeys the entire length of the Americas – beginning this week in Alaska and Canada.
Since the 1970s, it’s estimated that 4,000 indigenous women and girls in Canada have gone missing.
‘Indigenous Canadians are some of the poorest and most vulnerable in society,’ explains Simon. ‘In recent years, hundreds of women and girls in Canada, mainly indigenous people, have gone missing and are presumed to have been murdered.
