HE WOKE to the sound of a fist hammering on his front door. It was the police – again.

Louis Jolly was being relentlessly pursued by the cops, but his attempts to prove he wasn’t the violent stalker that his ex claimed he was fell on deaf ears.

For five agonising months Louis (22) found himself subject to repeated visits from the police, often ending in his arrest as he was accused of threatening, harassing and stabbing his former girlfriend, Courtney Ireland-Ainsworth.

And it wasn’t just her say-so that had police beating on his door: they presented evidence too – threatening messages and posts on social media sites which Courtney said he’d sent her.

One especially vile post read, “she’s getting a f***ing blade in her chest fully this time”.

Others included video footage of Courtney walking in the street. The young woman also showed police a scar on her chest which she claimed was the result of Louis slashing her with a Stanley knife box cutter.

Courtney (20) told police that Louis, who’s from Liverpool in the UK, had broken into her home and smashed her belongings and also hurled a brick through a window of her grandmother’s house.

Louis was arrested six times, spending a total of 81 hours in police custody and his repeated arrests and stints behind bars cost him his job.

“This was frustrating for my employer. I explained the allegations were malicious and that I hadn’t done anything wrong and at first he was understanding. But in the end he had to let me go as I was repeatedly missing work and having to attend court hearings.”
