Trevor Noah’s new home in the mountains of Los Angeles is nothing short of jaw-dropping
LESEGO MKHIZE
NEW PRINCE OF BEL-AIR

AS A kid, home was a two-bedroom, single-storey dwelling overlooking Soweto’s bustling Vilakazi Street – the house he lived in with his beloved grandmother, Nomalizo, and a place that will for ever occupy a special corner of his heart.

But oh, how Trevor Noah has expanded his horizons – quite literally.

Now that he’s bought a gobsmacking mansion in the uber-upmarket Los Angeles neighbourhood of Bel-Air, his view is of the rugged Santa Monica mountains in one direction and the blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean in the other.

The cost? A mere $27,5 million (R420m). But now that our Trev earns an estimated $28m (R424m) a year as host of The Daily Show, he can afford it.

The new home has been making waves overseas – the Los Angeles Times and Architectural Digest are among the publications to have reported on Trevor’s snapping up of it.

But then Trevor (36) is hot stuff, one of the world’s top talk-show hosts and a hit in the US thanks to his astute political commentary and tongue-in-cheek take on global affairs.

Now he has the mansion to match the money and a partner to share it with – his girlfriend, actress Minka Kelly (40).

The couple “are still really happy and in love”, a source tells People magazine, confirming rumours that Trevor had bought the LA mansion for them to share.

“They’re making plans for a future together and it’s a very stable relationship,” the source added.

“They’ve been spending time between coasts over the past year and had been looking for a place in LA as a couple.”
