AMM - How did you get to play Khal Quorro in Game of Thrones season 6?
Darius - Game of Thrones were looking for a muscular intimidating dark warrior so I was invited to the Leicester Square Studio in London for an audition. The casting director was really welcoming and professional. I did the audition and they took a few pictures of me from different angles, no make up, no lighting, no hair styling, just raw natural pictures. A few days later my agent received an email back from Thrones casting team, saying that I had the right look, that made me very happy. The exact words on the email were “Darius definitely has the right look”. A few days later I got picked for the part. Needless to say I was very happy and appreciative.
AMM - We could imagine exactly how you must have felt the moment you heard the news. What did you have to do to prepare for playing this character?
Darius - Language & script:
Hours and hours of learning the language: Dothraki, but it was easy for me because of the languages that I know already so my pronunciation was good and I find it easy to learn languages. Growing up in a multilingual family helped a lot.
