The brand Louis Vuitton may have started out as a trunk-maker, but over the years, it has gained expertise in a wide variety of areas, like high fashion, fine jewellery, and even high-end watches. Its watches in particular have combined a radical rethink of the codes of haute horlogerie; with the finest craftsmanship and aesthetic design, the brand proposes truly unique timepieces for the most discerning of watch lovers, in particular those who appreciate a touch of whimsy and fun. To mark the launch of its new watch creations, including the Tambour Spin Air Time Quantum, and three variations of the Tambour Slim Vivienne Jumping Hours, the brand held its own international watch event in Megève, France on 9 March this year.
The Spin Time, a long-time icon of Louis Vuitton's watchmaking arm, was first introduced in 2009. It was a watch that reimagined the conventional display of the hour markers, turning it into a three-dimensional dance, and was first conceived by Michel Navas, one of the most talented working watchmakers today and the man behind high-end watch movement specialist manufacturer, La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton. And in 2022, the brand has transformed the Spin Time into the Tambour Spin Air Time Quantum. Now the cube-shaped hour markers can be illuminated on demand, adding another dimension to the existing complications of the watch.
