Glamour: What inspired your business idea, and how did you start?
Dr Ntuthu Mvundla: I was already interested in skin and plastic surgery when I was in medical school. A few years after I graduated, I moved to Joburg and started working on a skincare line with a chemist after work, a project that made me realise I wanted to do so much more. My idea for a skincare clinic focusing on non-surgical aesthetics and anti-ageing was born.
G: What makes your offering unique?
Dr M: At Eclat, we don’t just offer skin and anti-aging treatments in isolation; we also provide hormone balancing services to help our patients reach their goals. Balanced hormones are crucial for flawless skin, keeping you looking youthful and vibrant from head to toe.
G: What challenges did you experience?
Dr M: Aesthetic medicine is such a niche industry that’s still growing in South Africa, compared with countries such as America. Local women are also more conservative about aesthetics, especially when it comes to injectable, antiageing treatments. For our message to reach our ideal clients, we had to conduct tons of research and think outside the box.
G: The most rewarding aspect of your job?
