Swiss timepiece maker Bell & Ross is one the sponsors of the Renault F1 GP team. Their watches are as precise as the hi-tech engines in the French grand prix racers. Dieter Losskarn spent some time in the Renault box during last season’s final F1 GP in Abu Dhabi.
WHEN THE COVER IS TAKEN OFF the Renault F1 power plant in the pit lane box, there are strictly no photos allowed. Nevertheless, it’s fascinating to see the complicated and intricate hybrid up close. That’s what those engines have in common with the timepieces from sponsor Bell & Ross.
Both are all about precision and accuracy; hundreds of assembled and adjusted parts, moving in a limited space. The B&R company founders consisted not only of watchmakers, but of aeronautical control panel specialists as well.
