Scouting around the tricity led me to discover hidden treasures. Interesting conversations with chefs, captivating tales of the origins, facts about species and their uses. This was a discovery trail...not just the perfect biryani, but everything that goes into the making of perfect one.

By the time I started penning this piece, BBK was already a known name & hence my apprehension. Perhaps money was pumped into acquiring spaces and pushing the marketing package. That is when I turned to my favourite foodie companion, my Editor. A straight thumbs up as soon as he heard the name and the following evening we found ourselves carrying our entire office gang to BBK.
A bite of the Hyderabadi Murg biryani and I knew why it had pleased the otherwise 'difficult to please' my boss. Meat that melts in your mouth, full bodied rice, and aroma that captivates you even before you take the first bite. A big draw is the rustic earthen pots that contain the biryani, with a place to hold candled beneath, so your biryani stays warm always. The burst of taste in the mouth keeps the flavour alive till the last bite. There are other options too, but let me be honest here – nothing even comes close to the Hyderabadi Murg Biryani at BBK.
