XIXI LIM, 35 actor, host and personality
To meet Lim in person is to experience the uncontained joy and effervescence that has made her-to her own confusion-naturally funny to everyone she meets. "Even when I'm being serious everyone is laughing," she quips. Still beneath her quick wit and bubbly persona lies a steely determination to succeed. Her comedy hero is actor Mark Lee, someone who she feels is still going strong in his 50s. When Lim, a child actor, first made the decision to move into performing full-time as an adult, she was initially met with scepticism as she did not fit the mould of what a celebrity should look like. "I wanted to show people that being different, or being me, I could still create a career for myself. If people can see the good in me, perhaps I can forge another path for the younger generation. I want them to think "If Xixi is doing it, so can I."
