LUCK I know a thing or two about luck. Today I’m sitting in the sun-drenched garden of the French consul general’s residence in the heart of Marrakech, Morocco, sipping French rosé, surrounded by bouquets of peonies that perfectly match the wine. I’ve just finished interviewing author and historian Nicholas Foulkes and Van Cleef & Arpels’ heritage director, Catherine Cariou. We’re all in Marrakech for the 50th-anniversary celebration of the house’s creation Alhambra, the four-leaf clover pendant launched in 1968 by an establishment French jeweller during the height of flower power.
