4 Celebrities Who Have Purchased Exquisite Pieces Of Jewellery, All On Their Own Dime!

Google 'celebrity jewellery', and more often than not, the first few headlines that appear are all about engagement rings implying the most lavish piece of jewellery a woman can own is one that has been presented to her by a man.

Through the years, stories have often been penned about famous female figures who were presented with extravagant jewellery by the men in their lives, rarely discussing the jewels that women have acquired on their own. From Elizabeth Taylor to American socialite and then-owner of General Foods, Marjorie Post, women have been purchasing their own jewellery and amassing their own storied collections for the longest time and today's female powerhouses are following in their footsteps.

Billie Eilish

What is a girl to do after winning five Grammy Awards? Well, if you're Billie Eilish, you splurge on something equally extravagant to commemorate the milestone. At just 18, Eilish swept the 2020 Grammy's, clinching the awards for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album.

This was the first time since 1981 that any artist had won all four general-field awards -commonly known as the 'Big Four' in one night. To celebrate, the Ocean Eyes singer turned to celebrity jeweller Boodaddy Diamonds of Koosh Jewellery, who created for her a black diamond-encrusted pendant that read '5X', a nod to her staggering achievement. With an estimated cost of US$30,000, the pendant was also engraved with her name on the back.
