Jean-Marc Mansvelt, CEO of Chaumet, tells us more about the Maison’s new Boléro line of watches and jewellery
We wanted to create a watch to match a woman’s strong personality, and enable her to distinguish herself from others. We wanted the watch to be sensual, feminine, pure and elegant. To echo grace and character, we wanted the object to be round. The name came naturally after the object – there is a link to Maurice Ravel’s orchestral work, which is repetitive and quite subversive, as well as the ballet from Maurice Béjart.
