It is not easy to walk into FIRE+FLNT without some kind of trepidation. For the agoraphobic, the panoramic views of Orchard Road from 55 levels up can be daunting. For those accustomed to ordering meals that can be “upsized”, the menus at either require some culinary chops — FIRE specialises in Argentinian wood-fired cooking techniques while FLNT is Singapore’s only Nikkei-influenced sukiyaki bar and grill.
FIRE+FLNT is a restaurant that gives new meaning to the phrase “over the top” — partly because the place is unlike any other and it also boasts an all-star ensemble of specialists who delve into the nitty-gritty of the restaurant business. A dining development team specialises in the hospitality experience — how one experiences both establishments from check-in to check-out. A night business team curates music programming — high-energy percussive Peruvian beats at FLNT and contemporary Argentinian tunes at FIRE that elevate the dining experience. Also of course, a culinary development team that pays homage to fire — both in the cuisine served and modern presentation of authentic cooking methods through its “Fire in the Sky” showmanship.
Massimo Aquaro, group dining development director of 1-GROUP paints this picture best. “We wanted to liven the Singapore dining scene with concepts that are truly new and unique for diners here. To that end, we have consulted and worked closely with an international team of talent and advisors that helped us develop the all-encompassing gastronomic and lifestyle concepts befitting of such an iconic location above one of the world’s famed shopping streets at the peak of ION Orchard, in a market that has been at the cutting edge of the culinary scene in Asia for many years.
