The dawn of this new decade has proven to be a rocky start. Sometimes, a little stability is welcomed to bring a semblance of balance back into our lives

The Indispensable Constant in Life

A quick mental run through your day can confirm one thing: Indeed, there’s that one thing that’s ultimately key to your day. And if you were to go through your day without at least having a moment with it, frankly your day would not be the same. That’s your ever-faithful sidekick. Marie Claire talks to the everyday women to uncover their sidekick, and why it is what it is.

Bihzhu-The Trusted Journal

If you haven’t heard her latest single “I Am Enough”, then you should. Bihzhu is a singer-songwriter, and being a songbird and a poet requires a lot of creative flow. Inspiration is a mercurial thing; here one moment, gone the other. It may be the 21st century, but some good old pen and paper are sometimes all you need to create beautiful words.

“I need the satisfaction of scribbling, crossing things out, and putting down words on paper that reflect my being at the moment. When I write, I’m forced to slow down and really digest my thoughts. It’s a very powerful tool of introspection,” Bihzhu says.

Bihzhu finds that her journal keeps her grounded at all times. Each night before bed, she lists down things that she’s grateful for. Going through a rough day is now only a matter of perspective: “Re-examining it with the lens of gratitude does bring me peace and happiness.”

“I Am Enough” has been in her mind for ages. These affirmations: “I am soul, I am beautiful, I am loved, I am enough,” have been phrases that she repeated to herself in the mirror for years. It wasn’t until last year that she expanded them into a complete song.
