On islands in the Great Bear Rainforest, there are wolves that aren’t afraid of taking the plunge for a fish supper.

We imagine wolves howling on moonlit nights or running in packs through snow-laden forests– we don’t envisage them paddling in the sea and feeding on fish. However, on the remote islands of the Great Bear Rainforest, on the Pacific Coast of British Columbia, wolves do exactly that. “When we started studying these animals in 2011, only the First Nations people knew anything about them,” Ian explains.
