Manufacturer: FineMoulds

UK Importer: Frome Model Centre

This kit is a new mould of a very popular subject in all scales. The variant I chose is Tan attractive two-tone blue scheme carried by the 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron of the JASDF, FineMolds having released a variety of boxings of different Japanese F-4EJs, plus a USAF F-4E Vietnam-era scheme.

The kit arrived in a sturdy lid-and-tray box, with each sprue individually cellophane-wrapped. The crystal-clear transparency sprue offers a choice of a windscreen and single-piece closed hood or three-piece open canopy option. The instructions are a ten-page black and white A5 booklet with a lot of Japanese in it, but enough English to get by! The decal sheet is packed with a mass of grouped stencils, plus squadron and individual aircraft markings for a total of five aircraft, all from the 8th Tactical Fighter Squadron based at Misawa, and all in the two-tone blue scheme.
